Many customers who purchase a new Underwater Fish Light, love it so much they either want to add more lights to their system, or get a more powerful bulb. There are a few options available for everyone who wants to upgrade their system.

Unfortunately, you cannot simply add more bulbs to your current control box for your fish light. Each light assembly (bulb and wire) requires its own ballast (transformer) inside the box to be powered. Therefore, if you currently have a single light dock system, you will not be able to run two bulbs, because there is only one ballast inside the control box. To add more lights, you have three options; return the system and exchange it, add bulbs by purchasing each part individually, or purchase a new system to add to your dock. If you would like to add more lights to your system and you are within our sixty-day moneyback guarantee, all you need to do is simply send the system back to us and we can exchange it for you. You will just need to pay the difference for the larger system. You can also opt to purchase every part individually to basically build your system into a larger one. To do this, you will not only need to purchase another light assembly and ballast, but also a larger control box and any other necessary parts to complete the system. This is the most expensive option, but will still work. The next option is to simply buy a new system to add. Even though you will need another outlet to plug the light into, it will still be cheaper than modifying your current system part by part.

We have many customers that have purchased our Natural Green light many years ago and now wish to upgrade to the Vibrant Green bulb. Unfortunately, we cannot simple attached the new bulb to their system. The Natural Green lights are 175-watt bulbs. These bulbs are powered by 175-watt ballasts, or transformers, inside the control box. The Vibrant Green lights are 250-watt bulbs and are powered by 250-watt ballasts inside the control box. Unfortunately, the 175-watt Natural Green ballasts are not powerful enough to light the 250-watt bulbs.

For those customers that wish to upgrade, they would have to purchase an all new Vibrant Green system to reap the benefits of the brighter light. Underwater Fish Light does give customers a sixty-night money-back guarantee. So, any customer that is within the sixty-night period is welcome to return their Natural Green system and exchange it for the brighter Vibrant Green system.

If you have any questions regarding your system, please do not hesitate to call us at our manufacturing facility at 855-FISH-LIGHT

There is no way to definitively say what type of fish you will see at your Underwater Fish Light. It all depends on where you live. Customers in Florida tend to see Snook, Tarpon, Redfish, Snapper, Largemouth Bass, and many more. Our customers up north in New York see Walleye, Northern Pike, and Smallmouth Bass. Even though we can’t tell you the type of fish you will see, we can still guarantee that you will see fish!

For some customers it takes less than an hour for them to see fish. For others, it could take up to a month. For this reason, every customer automatically gets a sixty-night money-back guarantee. This gives every customer enough time with their dock to see fish without any risk.

Our lights attract fish by reflecting off tiny particles in the water like phytoplankton and zooplankton. These particles produce a food source for baitfish. Once the baitfish arrive, the predator fish (larger fish like Snook, Tarpon, or Northern Pike) are attracted to your dock. You will eventually see an entire food chain right outside your home! Our lights come equipped with a photocell that automatically turns the light on at dusk and off at dawn. This not only ensures the system cleans itself, but it also builds a feeding cycle for the fish. Because of this, the fish know they can find food at the light each night.

The longer the light is in the water, the more fish you will see. The type of fish at the lights will vary depending on the time of year. Some fish are more active in colder months, whereas others thrive in colder weather. So, when you buy an Underwater Fish Light, you can rest assured that you will see fish, but your location determines the type of fish you will see.

Here at Underwater Fish Light, we stand behind our product. That is why every system sold by us, comes with a three-year manufacturer’s warranty. This warranty covers any defects that with the system. For example, if your light bulb were to burn out within three years of purchasing your system, we will replace your bulb at no charge. However, this warranty does not cover any damages to the system. So, if your bulb were to break, that would not be covered by the warranty, because it is a damage that was not caused by a defect.

If you have an Underwater Fish Light, and believe you have a part covered under warranty, all you need to do is give us a call. We will request that you send in the component to our shop, for inspection. After inspection, the technicians will determine if the part is defective, or if it is damaged. If it is defective, our technicians will replace the part free of charge and ship it back to you.

If your component is not covered under the manufacturer warranty, you are still welcome to have it repaired. We design, manufacture, and sell these lights, so we are capable of repairing or replacing any component included in these lights. For example, if your GFI plug is not working properly, and the technicians determine it is damaged from water intrusion, it will not be covered by the warranty, but you can simply buy the same part through us and we will send it back out to you.

In order to keep your three-year warranty valid, you must not make any unauthorized changes to the system. Sometimes, customers will hardwire the systems, cut off the standard GFI plug, or bypass the photocell. All of these alterations, and many more, will invalidate the warranty. We have this policy in place, because these alterations actually damage the system. Overtime, these changes cause the light to overheat and damage several components in the system. Any issues caused by these alterations are damages, not manufacturer defects, therefore, they are not covered under the warranty.

Our three-year warranty is to ensure that your light keeps running. We have thousands of customers around the world, and most of them have had their light for at least seven years. By simply protecting your system from day one, your system will last an incredibly long time.

Our Caribbean Blue Lights are very unique and eye-catching. They create a different ambiance than the usual green Underwater Fish Lights, and definitely stand out of the crowd. Many people are interested in these lights over the green lights, but they have several questions. They want to know if the blue will attract the same amount of fish, how the blue will work in their waterway, and if the blue is as bright as the green lights.

The biggest thing to consider before purchasing the Caribbean Blue lights is the water clarity at your dock. For these lights to show the ideal color, the water needs to be crystal clear. If the Caribbean Blue bulb is placed in murky water, it will actually illuminate an amber/yellow color. If your water is murky, there is obviously more dirt and sediment that is in the water. These actually change the color of the light, because the blue light reflects off these particles, creating more of an amber glow rather than the blue most people are expecting. That is why any possible customers must have clear water in order to enjoy the color as intended.

One of the most popular question regarding our Caribbean Blue lights refers to the amount of fish they attract. Most of our fish lights on the market are green, and attract baitfish by reflecting off phytoplankton and particles in the water. These bait fish, in turn, attract the predator fish. These Caribbean Blue lights work the same way. Even though the lights are blue, they still reflect off particles in the water to attract the fish. The Caribbean Blue lights also have a photocell built into the system, just like the green lights, which not only ensure the bulbs are clean, but also continues to build a feeding cycle for the fish to keep them coming back every night. Because of this, we have named these lights Caribbean Blue, implying that they belong in crystal clear, Caribbean-style water to truly thrive.

Our other popular question regarding the Caribbean Blue is the brightness of the lights. These lights are 250-Watt Metal Halide bulbs. They are the brightest bulbs that we offer. They will be just as bright as our Vibrant Green Series, kicking up about a 15-foot diameter circle of light on the surface. Another thing to consider is the actual hue of blue these lights produce. These lights show more of an ice-berg blue. It is a subtle, ambient blue, rather than a royal blue you would see from an LED light, or on someone’s shirt.

While the Caribbean Blue look amazing in the water, there are a few things to consider, first. You will still see the same amount of fish at your dock, but you must ensure that you water is crystal clear. If you don’t have clear water, you’ll end up having an amber-colored light rather than a blue one.
